CLEVELAND – June 9, 2019 – Sharon Toerek, intellectual property and marketing law attorney based in Cleveland, has been selected as an AAF-Cleveland Hall of Fame honoree for 2019. Presented by The American Advertising Federation – Cleveland, The AAF-Cleveland Hall of Fame honors marketing and advertising executives who have made substantial and lasting contributions to the advertising industry.

According to the official release from AAF-Cleveland, “The inductees were selected by a panel of current Hall of Fame members and past AAF-Cleveland presidents. Criteria for induction include: service to nominee company; furthering industry standards; creative excellence; responsibility in areas of social concern; and service to the community and/or Ad Club.” In addition, Toerek “has devoted her legal practice at Toerek Law to helping creative professionals protect, enforce and monetize their creative assets through counsel on copyright, content protection, licensing, trademark and brand protection matters.”

Toerke is past president of AAF-Cleveland, serves on the American Association of Advertising Agencies Legal Consultant panel, as the National Small Business Association Board Chair, and as a Board Member for the Greater Cleveland Partnership and JumpStart, Inc. She served as a Past Chairman of the Council of Smaller Enterprises and is a regular featured speaker and advocate across the country in her specialty practice areas of law and economic development.

Rick Turner Jr. and Lane Strauss round out the 2019 Hall of Fame class with Toerek, joining “122 advertising legends as Hall of Fame members.”

The 2019 Class was honored at the AAF-Cleveland Awards Program on Tuesday, June 11, at FWD in Cleveland, along with Industry Impact Award winner Colette Jones from Destination Cleveland and rising ad community stars, Diana Prodan, Chris Jungjohann, Christian Woltman, and Jeff Culliton, the 4 Under 40 Class of 2019.
